2012 Eisner Award Nominations

The 2012 Eisner nominations for manga have been announced. Interestingly, the two manga I'm currently blogging - Hourou Musuko (Wandering Son) and Otoyomegatari (Brides Story) - were both nominated. Good job, Eisner Committee!

  1. is Brides Story any good? I've been thinking about reading it for the longest time and the art looks amazing, but the concept isn't very enticing....

    1. I can't speak to whether you'll enjoy the premise - I certainly do - but the artwork is every bit as amazing as you think. I'd say give it a few chapters and see what you think. I find the human interaction extremely realistic, and the insight into another culture fascinating.

  2. I watched the Hourou Musuko anime a while ago and enjoyed it. After seeing your posts about the manga i decided to pick it up and loved it! The author's other long running series "Aoi Hana" is also very good. I always have a sweet spot for stories covering unconventional romance.
